The Labour Party and the senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, have called on Nigerians to embrace sacrifice, compassion, unity and peaceful coexistence as Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday, the Labour Party said Eid al-Adha symbolises faith, obedience, sacrifice and total submission to the will of God as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
The opposition party noted that the virtues of sacrifice, humility, tolerance and service to humanity remain essential in building a just and peaceful society.
The statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, urged Nigerians to use the occasion for sober reflection, renewed spirituality and greater commitment to national unity.
