The Director General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, has called on Nigerians to embrace the values of sacrifice, peaceful coexistence and national unity as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the IPCR DG, the institute extended greetings to Muslim faithful in Nigeria and around the world, urging deeper reflection on the lessons of the Islamic festival.
The statement noted that Eid-el-Kabir commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice in obedience to God and coincides with the rites of Hajj in Mecca, including the standing at Arafat.
The institute described the festival as “a profound spiritual reminder of devotion, discipline, and submission to divine will”.
