A power outage has left parts of Auckland’s Grey Lynn in darkness, with street lights and traffic lights reportedly out.
The unplanned outage was reported about 8.46pm on Wednesday, according to Vector’s outage map.
A Stuff reporter at the scene said the entirety of Williamson Ave appeared to be dark, with the only light coming from some businesses believed to be running on back-up generators.
The outage also appeared to affect parts of Great North Rd, including the area around Western Springs, MOTAT and the Outerfields with power appearing to be restored further west towards Pt Chevalier.
There were roadworks at the top of Williamson Ave, near the intersection with Great North Rd, at the time of the outage. It was not immediately clear whether the work was connected to the power cut.
