Former footballer and manager Chris Kamara appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Wednesday10:17, 27 May 2026Beloved star Chris Kamara has shared a new health update with fans.Back in 2022, the 68-year-old former professional footballer and manager revealed that he was diagnosed with apraxia of speech, which can leave people struggling with certain motor movements.Chris has since been raising awareness of the condition and how it can affect others.The star appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Wednesday (May 27), where he spoke to hosts Ranvir Singh and Tom Swarbrick about his new World Cup song.During the interview, Ranvir also asked how Chris was doing amid his diagnosis, with the star replying: "Ah, I'm great. Yeah, I'm fine."He added: "I'm not the same person as I was, but I accept the new me now, and everybody else seems to accept it, so you get on with life."Ranvir then said, "Just explain what it is that you discovered," with Chris sharing, "I had apraxia of speech, a brain injury. So, the message from the brain to the mouth is interrupted. So, sometimes you can't speak, or you speak slower."Ranvir interjected, saying: "But you know what, it's your energy, your personality, your verve and vigor for life that always brings everybody up," with Tom simply adding: "Legend."Chris continued: "Everybody has been absolutely brilliant, so thank you all."Sing 4 England, written by Kent local Paul Baker, was originally released for Euro 2012. Now, more than a decade on, a remix featuring the Bantam of the Opera choir and Chris on lead vocals has been released.Sharing his excitement ahead of the World Cup next month, Chris said: "I love it. I love football full stop, so to think [England] could win this. We're one of the favourites, aren't we? So, it has to happen sometime in my life."He continued: "We are going to be in full voice. What happened in the Euros, Harry Kane wasn't fit, and we got to the final with an unfit Harry Kane. He's now fit and scoring goals."Scotland, everybody loves Scotland when they play.
