Rescue teams found Bruna Damaris alive on Tuesday (26) after she had been missing in the waters off Ilhabela since Sunday (24). According to the Maritime Fire Department Group (GBMar), she was found at sea about 16 km from the coast, near Búzios Island.Bruna was first spotted by a fishing boat, whose crew provided initial assistance. She was then taken by firefighters to a ferry and transported to Ilhabela Municipal Hospital.
According to city officials, the patient is stable, breathing normally and showing no signs of imminent risk of death. She remains under observation and is undergoing medical exams. Her relatives have been informed and are on their way to the hospital.
Bruna and her boyfriend had gone on a jet ski ride at Ponta das Canas beach around 4 p.m. on Sunday but did not return. Friends began searching that same night with support from fishermen and nautical sector professionals.
The official operation began on Monday morning (25). Later that day, firefighters located the jet ski about 22 km from the departure point. A cellphone with low battery was found on the vehicle. Bruna’s boyfriend remains missing.
