For Mall Month, I revisited one of my favorite footwear brands as a teenager (and early-20-something) and tried on a bunch of sandals at the Steve Madden flagship store in Soho. The brand is known for its trendy shoes offered at affordable prices, and while many of the styles are straight-up dupes of designer styles, they have always been well made. I tried on everything from jellies to kitten heels to platform wedges to many, many thongs. For someone with bunions, I found most everything I put on my feet to be very comfortable — except for maybe the thongs, which, as a shoe type, have always been hard for me. Perhaps most importantly, they’re all extremely cute. Below, the 18 sandals (and sandal-like shoes) I tried on at Steve Madden, plus a few extras I’d consider.
