MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and 48 other areas are forecast to experience danger-level heat index on Wednesday, May 27, the state weather bureau said.
This Eid’l Adha holiday, several areas may record a peak heat index of 46°C, which falls under the danger category (42°C to 51°C).
In Metro Manila, Pasay City may experience a heat index of up to 44°C while Quezon City may record 43°C, which means heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, while heat stroke is possible with prolonged exposure.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), heat index is how hot the body will feel when air temperature and humidity are combined.
