A car has driven into a logging truck parked in Dunedin’s CBD, with the driver taken to Dunedin Hospital with critical injuries.
The crash unfolded on the northbound one way system, with the driver of the vehicle driving into the rear of the logging truck, which was parked near the Leviathan Hotel on Tuesday, about 11.55pm.
Acting senior sergeant Iain Notman said the the car was found wedged under the left rear of the logging truck “causing significant damage to both vehicles”.
The single occupant was trapped, and was removed from the vehicle by Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
Hato Hone St John responded with an ambulance, one rapid response unit and one operations manager to the scene.
