ARAFAT: A fully equipped field hospital in Arafat is among the many features of a comprehensive healthcare system provided by the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Medical Services to ensure the safety of this year’s more than 1.7 million Hajj pilgrims.
As well as specialized teams working around the clock to ensure rapid response to emergencies, the facility has an intensive care unit, operating theaters, isolation units and heat stress treatment rooms.
Mustafa Baljoon, supervisor of the Security Forces Hospital program in Makkah, said the facility, with its 250 physicians, nurses and support staff, was one of the key medical hubs serving both security personnel and pilgrims.
“The field hospital includes 110 beds designated for emergency cases, heat stress, cardiac resuscitation and isolation,” he said.
The facility is located in front of Namirah Mosque, where large numbers of pilgrims gather, and operates 24 hours a day.
