According to the letter, Adeyanju, a well-known figure in Nigeria’s legal and human rights circles, has built a reputation over the years as a passionate advocate for justice and the rule of law.
Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has issued a pre-action notice demanding a public apology and immediate retraction from a Facebook user, Chimezie Princewill Onwuka, also known as Mezie, over an alleged defamatory publication accusing him of murder.
The demand was conveyed through his legal counsel, Zainab M. Otega, in a letter dated May 26, 2026, and addressed to Mezie who allegedly made the claims via a verified Facebook account, @Mezie, on May 24, 2026.
According to the letter, Adeyanju, a well-known figure in Nigeria’s legal and human rights circles, has built a reputation over the years as a passionate advocate for justice and the rule of law.
However, the lawyer said this reputation has now been gravely damaged by a defamatory social media post accusing him of murder and suggesting he was shielded from justice by Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.
