The Kerala High Court on Tuesday refused to cancel the bail granted to Sabarimala senior Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru by the Kollam Vigilance Court, in the case pertaining to the alleged gold theft from the Sabarimala temple.A plea by the State government sought to cancel Mr. Rajeevaru’s bail and remove critical findings in the Vigilance Court’s order regarding the SIT investigations. The court orally remarked that the findings will be removed, but the bail granted to Mr. Rajeevaru will not be cancelled.Mr. Rajeevaru was apprehended in connection with the case pertaining to the alleged theft of articles, including gold-plated copper encasings covering the doorway, stone carvings, and sculptures of the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple.Hearing on June 3The Kollam Vigilance Court had granted bail to Mr. Kandararu in February, reasoning that the investigating agency had not produced any evidence linking Mr. Rajeevaru to the offence of gold misappropriation.
