German cloud provider Yorizon and ACS-owned construction firm Hochtief have broken ground on a data center in Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia, in Germany.

The facility is the third 'Yexio' data center that the companies are developing in the region, and fourth in Germany as a whole, and will enable Yorizon to complete its Germany West cloud region in 2027.

The Germany West region will also include the Heiligenhaus and Bad Lippspringe data centers, also being developed by Hochtief. The fourth German data center being developed is in Bavaria.

Construction work on the Bad Lippspringe data center began in April 2025, aiming to be completed by summer of 2026. That data center will offer 2MW of capacity.
