The group argues national rivalries are weakening European defence projects
Greenpeace has urged European governments to take greater control of the continent’s defence industry, arguing that state involvement is needed to prevent key joint weapons projects from collapsing, according to a new report.
The environmental activist organisation criticised inefficient defence spending across Europe as governments ramp up rearmament efforts, warning that several European defence projects are at risk of failure.
One solution would be to increase state ownership, Greenpeace defence expert Alexander Lurz told Euractiv.
