The district administration has warned of criminal action against persons seeking grievances redress through threats of suicide bids at the weekly grievances meeting. Collector C. Dinesh Kumar has warned persons including those seeking mileage through such actions, those instigating public into such actions. The grievances redress meeting is a forum for legally admissible demands and petitions. Meanwhile, petitioners seeking immediate and unjustifiable grievances that are untenable or sub judice, under litigation, and to settle scores for personal enmities through threats of self-harm has been rising in the past week, the administration has stated.Grievances redress has its own process and time and may not be settled at the time scale of the petitioner. Further, such threats also pose risks to the life and safety of government officials.
