The stage is being set for the Indiramma Kutumba Jeevita Bima Pathakam (family life insurance), a scheme aimed at providing social security to all families across the State.The State Government has resolved to roll out the scheme after taking up enumeration of eligible families through a door-to-door survey. The Cabinet sub-committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka discussed the finer details of the scheme in detail on Tuesday and announced its decision to bring all the families under its purview.It was accordingly decided to collect data pertaining to all households through a comprehensive survey across the State. Special camps would be conducted for families that were left over during the survey exercise.The Cabinet panel has decided to design a special logo for the insurance scheme and stickers depicting the logo would be pasted on all the houses which would be covered in the survey. Simultaneously, awareness camps would be conducted at different levels to educate people about the benefits of the scheme.Mr. Vikramarka directed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to coordinate with the departments concerned and prepare a comprehensive action plan in this regard.Meanwhile, government has decided to conduct different programmes at the grass root levels for 12 days from June 2 to 12 marking the conclusion of the 99-day Praja Palana – Pragati Nivedika, the mass contact programme wherein different departments were engaged in resolving the grievances represented by the people.Accordingly, special programmes pertaining to environmental issues, road safety, campaign against drugs and narcotic substances and women & children safety would be taken up.
