Bitget has unveiled Reality, a regulated issuance platform for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) in a bid to bring traditional financial instruments onto the blockchain infrastructure with institutional-grade transparency, liquidity, and compliance.
According to a May 26 statement, Reality, operating as a subsidiary of Bitget, works with licensed brokers across exchanges including Nasdaq and NYSE to acquire and custody underlying securities while issuing corresponding on-chain economic exposure through tokenized assets known as rTokens.
Bitget said Reality was created to eliminate the trade-offs historically associated with tokenized assets by combining regulatory oversight, institutional liquidity, and open blockchain interoperability within a single issuance platform.
According to Bitget CEO Gracy Chen, the market for tokenized US equities remains largely untapped relative to the size of the multi-trillion-dollar global stock market. She positions the sector as a major long-term opportunity for digital assets.
“The on-chain assets you hold and the experience of holding real US stock assets are completely the same. More importantly, it also opens up the entire ecosystem of Bitget,” said Chen. “Your stock assets can be directly used for derivative transactions. It can also be used as a strategy tool for networking and sharing. It can also be used as a hedge fund. This is how real assets come to life.”
