The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia State election, Eric Opah, has expressed grief over the killing of Miss Wendy Achumba, a nursing student from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, allegedly murdered in Obowo, Imo State.
Opah described the incident as “painful, heartbreaking, and unfortunate,” saying the death of the young student was a tragedy not only to her family but to society at large.
Achumba, a student of Our Lady of Mercy Nursing School, Obowo, was reportedly killed in her off-campus residence in Obowo.
Two suspects currently in police custody allegedly confessed to the crime in a viral video.
In a statement on Monday issued by the Director of Media and Publicity, Eric Ikwuagwu, Opah said he “deeply feels the pain and grief of Wendy’s parents” and prayed for strength for the bereaved family.
