The Elegant Nurses Forum has condemned the gruesome killing of a student nurse, Miss Chinwendu Achumba, of the College of Nursing Sciences, Umuadara Umulogho, Imo State, describing the incident as “heartbreaking and barbaric.”
In a statement issued by its National Coordinator, Nurse Thomas Abiodun Olamide, on Sunday, the forum said it received the news of her death “with deep shock, pain and anger.”
According to the group, the young nursing student was “brutally raped and murdered inside her room by suspected criminals who forcefully gained access into her residence.”
Her throat was reportedly slit.
