Russian forces struck Naftogaz Group infrastructure in four Ukrainian regions between May 18 and May 23, using drones and ballistic missiles, the company said. The first strikes were reported overnight on May 18 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where drones hit several facilities, including an Ukrnafta fuel station. The station and its equipment were destroyed, and two employees were injured. Later the same night, Russian forces launched ballistic missiles at other facilities in the region, causing additional damage. A full assessment was not immediately possible due to continued threats. “All of the targeted facilities are exclusively civilian infrastructure,” Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskiy is quoted in a company press release. “They have no connection whatsoever to military targets. All relevant services are working at the sites. Efforts to clarify the consequences of the attacks are ongoing.” In the Chernihiv region, strikes continued for four days starting May 19. Drone and missile attacks damaged critical equipment at gas infrastructure sites and forced the evacuation of personnel at one facility. However, no injuries were reported. On May 23, Russian forces struck sites in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions in attacks lasting more than 24 hours.
