PM Modi announces special India-France strategic partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held wide-ranging talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on February 17 to strengthen ties in trade, defence, energy and critical technologies. The two leaders virtually inaugurated an Airbus H125 helicopter assembly line in Karnataka and advanced collaboration on Rafale jets, submarines and fifth-generation engines. The visit comes days after India cleared a proposal to procure 114 Rafale fighter jets, marking one of the world’s biggest military procurement programmes.
