MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. Russia has completed deployment of the domestic satellite constellation intended for monitoring the Northern Sea Route (NSR), and it is already transmitting information in test mode. This was announced by Rosatom Special Representative for Arctic Development Vladimir Panov at a meeting of the Council of Northern Sea Route Shipping Participants.

"The entire domestic satellite constellation planned for monitoring the Northern Sea Route has been created, everything is operational. Moreover, information is already being transmitted to us in test mode. Going forward, all data will be integrated into the Unified Digital Services Platform as quickly as possible, allowing us to monitor the entire Northern Sea Route. This will fundamentally change the approach to navigation along the route, including in the eastern sector," Panov stressed.

According to a statement from Rosatom’s press service, council participants intend to invite representatives of the Roscosmos state corporation to the next meeting in order to provide detailed and comprehensive information on the entire satellite constellation, its technical capabilities and the future potential for its use in support of navigation along the Northern Sea Route.
