Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari has denied reports claiming that Doha had offered Iran $12 billion to help secure an agreement with the United States.

In a post on X, Al Ansari said: “The reports suggesting Qatar “offered” $12 billion to Iran to secure a deal are simply not true.”

He added that the allegations were being circulated by parties seeking to undermine the agreement and weaken diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region.

Al Ansari said Qatar’s diplomatic efforts, carried out in coordination with regional partners, were “well known and clear”, adding that “such narratives are nothing more than desperate attempts to tarnish Qatar’s reputation as a trusted international peace facilitator.”
