A train crashed into a school bus in Belgium on Tuesday morning, leaving several "victims," the country's interior minister said.
"With great dismay, I learnt of the tragic accident in Buggenhout, where a school bus was struck by a train. My thoughts go out to the victims and their loved ones. I wish the injured much strength," minister Bernard Quintin wrote in a post on X.
The vehicle was carrying seven schoolchildren and two adults, local public broadcaster VRT reported.
Of the two adults, one was the driver while the other was supervising the children.
The incident happened at a level crossing and an investigation into the cause of the crash is under way.
