North Korea has launched several Crbm (Close-Range Ballistic Missile, with a range of up to 300 kilometers) ballistic missiles towards the Yellow Sea. South Korean military officials announced this as rumors continue to circulate about a possible imminent visit to Pyongyang by Chinese leader Xi Jinping. South Korean military officials, according to the South Korean agency Yonhap, detected the launches from the Jongju area around 1 PM local time.
"We have intensified surveillance and monitoring in anticipation of possible further launches and are sharing information with the United States and Japan," South Korean military officials stated, confirming the "operational readiness" of their forces.
