Amazon MX Player has set a June 3 premiere date for “Made in India: A Titan Story,” a six-part drama charting the founding and rise of Indian watchmaker Titan. The series will be available free exclusively on the platform.

A trailer has been unveiled.

Adapted from Vinay Kamath’s book “Titan: India’s Most Successful Consumer Brand,” the series is set in pre-liberalized India and follows the efforts of Xerxes Desai – the company’s founding managing director – to build a homegrown watch brand under the mentorship of J.R.D. Tata, the longtime chair of the Tata Group. Naseeruddin Shah plays Tata, with Jim Sarbh as Desai. Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Namita Dubey, Lakshvir Saran, and Kaveri Seth round out the ensemble. Karan Vyas wrote the series; Robbie Grewal directed. Almighty Motion Pictures produces.

“Xerxes Desai struck me as someone who was quietly rebellious, someone unafraid to challenge convention and imagine what didn’t yet exist,” Sarbh said. “What I love about ‘Made in India: A Titan Story’ is that while it speaks of ambition and scale, at its core, it’s deeply human – about persistence, instinct, and believing in an idea long before anyone else does. Playing Xerxes and partnering with Amazon MX Player on a story so layered and inspiring has been incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait for audiences to discover this world.”
