The state budget presented a surplus of €1.89 billion in January-April 2026, against the target for a deficit of €909 million that has been incorporated for the same period of 2026 in the budget’s introductory report, and a surplus of €1.85 billion for the same period of 2025, according to the definitive data available for the execution of the state budget on a modified cash basis.
The state budget primary balance on a modified cash basis amounted to a surplus of €5.18 billion, against the primary surplus target of €2.3 billion and the primary surplus of €5.15 billion performed at the same period of the previous year.
