Microsoft has confirmed that Samsung Gallery is losing the ability to back up to OneDrive starting later this year.
Quietly announced on a support page (via Reddit), Microsoft says that sync to OneDrive via the Samsung Gallery app will be shutting down on September 30, 2026.
After September 30, 2026, new users will not be able to link their Samsung Gallery and OneDrive apps.
If you previously used Samsung Gallery to OneDrive sync feature, you will need to update your camera roll settings to continue backing up new photos and videos and to access any photos you have already backed up via the OneDrive app.
Users can still back up their photos and videos via the OneDrive app, but direct integration with Samsung Gallery will go away.
