Ekiti State Government on Monday disbursed soft loan worth over N20million to some practitioners in the creative arts sector to boost their businesses.

Ekiti State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Prof. Rasaki Ojo Bakare, said that the gesture was in view of the Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration’s love for the creative arts sector.

Rasaki, who spoke in Ado Ekiti during the presentation of cheques to the second set of beneficiaries of Ekiti State Arts Endowment Fund, disclosed that all the beneficiaries – groups and individuals – “were investigated and found to be running businesses in the creative economy sector”.

The beneficiaries, comprising about 40 associations, companies and individual creative artists, smiled home on receipt of their letters of award and cheques, saying the gesture would enhance their businesses.
