Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported, quoting Hossein Kermanpour, the head of the public relations center at the Ministry of Health, that the injuries sustained by Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, during recent strikes were “superficial” and did not cause serious complications.
Kermanpour stated that the leader of the Islamic Republic only suffered injuries to his face, head, and legs, adding that these wounds “did not lead to any amputation or specific impairment.” He also claimed that when Khamenei was transferred to the hospital, doctors requested that he break his fast, but he maintained it until the time of Iftar.
The head of the Health Ministry’s public relations center said the incident demonstrates the stable physical condition of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. In another part of his remarks, Kermanpour attributed the widespread rumors surrounding the leader’s health condition to the performance of IRIB, stating, “This organization is not particularly national.”
In recent weeks, multiple reports and speculations have circulated regarding the physical condition of the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic following joint U.S. and Israeli airstrikes.
