“Nothing serious had happened” to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei when he was brought to a hospital following the outbreak of war with the United States and Israel on February 28, Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency reported on Monday, citing a health ministry official.
“The wounds were not the kind that would disfigure the supreme leader’s face, nor would they leave him disabled or result in limb amputation,” the official said.
“Several stitches were applied to the injuries. One of the areas that doctors decided to stitch immediately was his leg.”
Khamenei has not appeared publicly since the start of the war.
