Voters who desire a party that will punish all those that they consider responsible for the ills of this country have been given new “Hope” – the name of the party founded by Maria Karystianou, the mother of one of the victims of the Tempe train tragedy. The reservoir of anger is large, and there are many reasons that it stays filled, so this party, too, will draw from it. But voters have a number of options by which to turn their anger, indignation and hope into a political current – the political vehicles serving Kyriakos Velopoulos, Zoe Konstantopoulou, Yanis Varoufakis, Afroditi Latinopoulou, and others.
All those who feel that the country is defenseless in the face of immigrants, Turks, globalization, our Balkan neighbors, the Franks, the Bavarians, the English, the Americans, the Antichrist and whatever else has provoked shivers of patriotism in the breasts of “real Greeks” through the years, have not only the aforementioned parties vying for their pure hearts but also a former prime minister, who all through his long career has worked to turn the emotions of many into personal political gain.
