TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of Indonesia's National Selection Committee for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) 2026, Eduart Wolok, has announced the list of Indonesian state universities with the highest number of applicants in the 2026 National Entrance Test-Based Selection (SNBT).Eduart said the data highlights the most sought-after academic and vocational institutions among this year’s SNBT participants.“Here are the 10 most popular state universities for academic and vocational programs,” he said during a press conference at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in Jakarta on Monday, May 25, 2026.For academic programs, the University of Indonesia (UI) ranked first with 100,253 applicants. It was followed by Sebelas Maret University with 91,611 applicants and Gadjah Mada University with 84,637 applicants in the highly competitive SNBT 2026.Diponegoro University ranked fourth with 83,373 applicants, while Brawijaya University recorded 82,613 applicants. Padjadjaran University followed with 80,541 applicants. Airlangga University and State University of Surabaya also made the top list with 69,260 and 67,952 applicants, respectively.IPB University and Jakarta State University completed the top 10. IPB recorded 66,401 applicants, while Jakarta State University received 63,003 applicants in this year’s selection process.In the vocational category, Bandung State Polytechnic was the most popular with 48,483 applicants. It was followed by Jakarta State Polytechnic with 35,093 applicants and Malang State Polytechnic with 28,411 applicants.Semarang State Polytechnic ranked fourth with 24,913 applicants, followed by Medan State Polytechnic with 23,564 applicants and Sriwijaya State Polytechnic with 23,097 applicants. Padang State Polytechnic, Surabaya Electronics State Polytechnic, and Batam State Polytechnic also appeared among the most sought-after institutions this year.The SNBT 2026 results were officially announced on Monday at 03:00 PM WIB through https://pengumuman-snbt.snpmb.id and mirror sites of participating universities. Applicants can check their results using their UTBK-SNBT 2026 registration number and date of birth.
