adsYoruba Youth Council (YYC) has charged political office holders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and stakeholders in Yorubaland to move beyond political divisions and embrace collective regional interests that would benefit the people.

Alawode Rahmon Akintunde, President of YYC, noted that the Yoruba region remains blessed with intellectual capacity, rich culture, economic potential, and influential leaders capable of transforming the region into a model of development in Nigeria and Africa at large.

While reacting to the recent statement credited to former Nigerian military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, that Northern leaders must unite and reclaim the region from decline, he said the statement should not only concern the North but should also awaken Yoruba political, traditional, religious, and business leaders to place greater focus on the sustainable development and future of Yorubaland.

He pointed out that is a strong lesson and timely reminder for leaders across all regions of Nigeria, particularly in Yorubaland.

According to him, the former military leader’s reflection on regional growth, unity, and strategic leadership underscores the importance of visionary thinking and collective responsibility among leaders.adsads
