A new USCIS policy memorandum on adjustment of status has raised concerns among immigrant communities after reports claimed green card applicants may need to leave the United States to complete their applications abroad. But according to San Francisco-based immigration lawyer Atty. Lou Tancinco, the policy does not eliminate adjustment of status and should be understood in its proper legal context.
