Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana on Sunday (May 24, 2026) strongly denied allegations made by the opposition parties regarding loopholes in the recruitment process for teachers in State-run schools.Speaking to the media after inspecting the concrete laying work underway at the Abdul Kalam International School on Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board land in Nellore on Sunday, he stated that the process was entirely transparent and the procedure was well laid out, brushing aside doubts expressed by certain sections of political parties.“The process is going on in tune with the vision of Education Minister Nara Lokesh to keep Andhra Pradesh ahead in education. The revolutionary changes include steps to transform 14 schools across the State on international standards, on the lines of Venkatagiri Rajah’s School in Nellore,” he noted.Waqf Board Chairman Shaik Abdul Aziz said that the international school, currently under development at a cost of ₹20 crore on Waqf land, will provide free education to 15,000 students from marginalised sections.Deputy Mayor P. Roopkumar Yadav thanked Members of Parliament Beedha Mastan Rao Yadav, Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, the TVS Group, and Dr. Reddy’s Labs, among others, for allocating CSR funds for this noble cause.
