Syria’s new People’s Assembly will convene after polls filled seats in territories regained from Kurdish-led forces in the north-east.
Polling in Hasakah, Qamishli and Kobani followed January clashes that led the SDF to cede control to the government.
The October election bolstered Ahmad Al Shara, though a third of assembly members are directly appointed by the President, limiting democratic breadth.
Minority and women’s representation remains limited, raising questions over inclusivity as resistance persists among Kurdish, Alawite and Druze communities.
