According to him, delegates and party faithful who travel from different locations to participate in primaries in good faith are often presented with predetermined outcomes that do not reflect the actual votes cast during the exercises.
A political activist, Comrade Gbenga Soloki, has written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing concerns over the growing manipulation of party primary elections across Nigeria through the fabrication of results allegedly prepared long before delegates cast their votes.
In a letter addressed to the President, Soloki accused political actors and party leaders of undermining internal democracy by producing “fake primary results concocted in hotel rooms, private residences, and party secretariats.”
According to him, delegates and party faithful who travel from different locations to participate in primaries in good faith are often presented with predetermined outcomes that do not reflect the actual votes cast during the exercises.
“I write not merely as a concerned citizen, but as a Nigerian troubled by the growing assault on internal democracy within our political parties — an assault that threatens the very foundation of the democratic system upon which our nation stands,” Soloki stated.
