A week-long internal election exercise that was supposed to consolidate President Bola Tinubu’s grip on the party machinery ahead of 2027 has instead exposed the ruling All Progressives Congress APC’s deepest fault lines — with ghost elections, parallel results, inflated vote counts and protesters at the party’s own doorsteps.

However, there are those who the system favoured and it’s all cheers from them. Some processes were peaceful and candidates emerged, singing the praises of the party and their leadership. It was a different story in many other places.
