Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday that Pakistan hopes to host the next round of talks between Iran and the United States in the near future, as Islamabad continues its mediation efforts between the two countries.

“Pakistan will continue its peace efforts with utmost sincerity and we hope to host the next round of talks very soon,” Sharif wrote on X.

Pakistan has played a central role in facilitating diplomatic contacts between Washington and Tehran as both sides seek a negotiated resolution to the conflict.

Earlier, Trump said that a Memorandum of Understanding in ceasefire talks to end the US-Israel war with Iran “has been largely negotiated”.

Trump said that the agreement will include reopening the Strait of Hormuz, adding that it remained “subject to finalisation” by US and Iranian negotiators and “various other countries”.
