President Bola Tinubu on Saturday expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election process across the country, praising governors of the ruling party for their effective handling of the exercise.
The President spoke shortly after participating in the APC Presidential Primary Election at his Ikoyi ward in Lagos State, where party members gathered in large numbers amid tight security and heightened political activities.
Tinubu said the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to internal democracy, stressing that every member of the APC must be given the opportunity to participate in the political process at the grassroots level.
Speaking with journalists after casting his vote, the President described the primary exercise as peaceful, organised and in line with democratic principles.
