The cleric made the remarks during his Jumat Friday sermon delivered in Yoruba language in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, where he strongly condemned the activities of kidnappers and bandits terrorising communities.
The Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Dr. Yunus Teliat Olushina Ayilara II, has called on the Nigerian government to execute the bandits responsible for the abduction of schoolchildren, teachers and a principal in Yawota and Esin-Ele communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, insisting that such criminals should never be granted amnesty.

Speaking during the sermon, Ayilara said anyone found guilty of kidnapping and murdering innocent citizens should be killed after investigation and confirmation of their crimes, stressing that forgiveness should not be extended to such individuals.
According to him, “If the government arrests the kidnappers and after investigation discovers that they were the ones who abducted the students, children, teachers and principal, what the Holy Qur’an says is that you should not forgive them, but kill them immediately.”
