Pt. Chatur Lal, the tabla virtuoso who passed away six decades ago, continues to leave a quiet yet enduring imprint on the world of music. A grand celebration of his short but impactful life was recently held at one of Delhi’s most iconic monuments, the tomb of Safdarjung. The beautifully illuminated backdrop, the elegantly framed photograph, and printed anecdotes rekindled memories of the maestro. The evening began with a heartfelt tribute by his grandson Pranshu and his band, and culminated in a soulful concert by Anup Jalota.
