April 2026 retail inflation printed at 3.48% year-over-year, up from 3.40% in March and featuring 4.20% food inflation, remaining well inside the 2–6% target band yet reflecting upward momentum from base effects and commodity pressures. Traders assign 82.5% implied probability to a 4.50%+ annual outcome for 2026, consistent with RBI guidance and analyst forecasts averaging near 4.8% for the period amid sustained services and energy cost headwinds.
