Creative Artists Agency’s 11th annual CAA Moebius showcase, a two-day screening series of undergraduate and graduate student filmmakers, will take place May 27 to May 28.Accompanying this year’s showcase is the launch of Moebius Labs, a series of workshops and moderated conversations designed to provide participating filmmakers access to creatives, producers, and executives working across film and television. This year’s participants include screenwriter Julia Cox in conversation with Liz Suggs; producer Jessie Henderson; filmmaker David F. Sandberg; and CAA motion picture literary agents.The showcase will also feature appearances from filmmaker Max Barbakow and a soon-to-be-announced Academy Award-winning writer/director, who will each host an evening of the showcase and deliver opening remarks. Barbakow will return to host night one.This year’s showcase will feature films from both undergraduate and graduate film programs across the country and includes 10 short live-action films selected from a wide range of genres, tones, and perspectives.
Conceived by CAA Motion Picture agents Christina Chou, Zach Kaplan, and Pete Stein alongside Lingie Park, the showcase is organized by a cross-agency team of emerging leaders, including Derrick Davidian, Emily Ref, John O’Shea, Katy Needham, Laila Ghosheh, Milo Pepper, Ryan Uria, Sammie Johnson, Seth Parker, Walter Szafran, and CAA alum Chloe Landau, now at Netflix. “Over the past eleven years, Moebius has continued to grow alongside the filmmakers who have come through the program,” said Chou, Kaplan, and Stein in a joint statement. “With the introduction of Moebius Labs, we wanted to create a more direct exchange between emerging filmmakers and established creatives working at the highest levels of the industry. This year’s lineup reflects an incredible range of voices, ambition, and cinematic perspective, and we’re proud to continue building a platform that champions the next generation of storytellers.”Below, the full 2026 programming line-up.
