CEBU CITY, Philippines — Are there no more whale shark sightings in Oslob?

The local tourism office asserted that encountering the creatures, a popular tourist activity, remains operational, despite social media posts claiming its permanent suspension.

On Friday, May 22, online posts circulated about the supposed disappearance of the whale sharks, locally known as tuki or butanding, from the southeastern Cebu municipality.

The Tourism Office of Oslob, however, clarified that the posts were misleading and urged the public to remain wary of content on social media.
