SM Investments Corp. (SMIC) said it increased renewable energy sourcing to 31 percent of its total electricity consumption in 2025 as the group accelerated its shift toward cleaner energy across its businesses.

The parent company of the SM Group said renewable energy accounted for about 730 million kilowatt-hours of its electricity use last year, up from 27 percent in 2024.

SMIC said the transition helped the group avoid 370,644 metric tons of carbon emissions, equivalent to removing nearly 297,000 electric-powered passenger vehicles from the road for a year.
