The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2026, scheduled to be held on May 24.Reviewing the arrangements with officials at the Collectorate on Friday, Joint Collector G. Vidhyadhari directed the concerned departments to ensure foolproof conduct of the examination across 17 centres in the district.A total of 7,763 candidates are expected to appear for the examination, which will be held in two sessions, Paper-I from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and Paper-II from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.Officials were instructed to provide drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, furniture and CCTV surveillance at all centres. Police security, traffic regulation and medical facilities have also been arranged.The Joint Collector said mobile phones, Bluetooth devices and other electronic gadgets would be strictly prohibited. Metal detectors and low-power jammers would be deployed at the centres. Candidates were advised to reach their respective centres at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination and carry valid identity proof along with the e-admit card.
