The much-loved presenter of legendary shows, including Wish You Were Here...? has sadly died aged 90 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.‌The seasoned star, who was awarded an OBE in 1994 for her services to broadcasting, shared two children, son, Mark, and daughter, Emma, with her husband Neil Durden-Smith. Judith's broadcasting legacy continues through Mark, who has hosted major programmes for ITV, Channel 5, and Prime Video as well as spin-off show, Wish You Were Here...? Now and Then.‌‌Paying tribute to the presenter, Judith's family, who were with her when she died after her health recently declined, said she'd lived an "extraordinary life".They told ITV news: "After living an extraordinary life that involved over 60 years in broadcasting and countless adventures all over the globe, Judy sadly passed away last night, surrounded by the family she loved so much after suffering with Alzheimer's for some years."Referencing her epic travel show career on the iconic ITV show, they added: "We will miss her greatly but she leaves behind a giant suitcase of the happiest of memories."‌Born in Gatley, Cheshire, Judith was just 13 when she began working for the BBC. Alongside her sister Sandra, she was selected to perform on BBC North programme Children's Hour. Throughout the 1960s, she presented programmes such as Family Favourites and Woman's Hour for BBC Radio and dance show Come Dancing from 1961 to 1965.In the 1970s, she moved to ITV to host their daytime TV show Good Afternoon. In 1974, aged 38, she started presenting holiday programme Wish You Were Here...?, where she remained until 2003. Not only would the show provide Judith with almost three decades on the TV, it also sparked the career of her son Mark, who hosted spin-off show Wish You Were Here...? Now and Then.Mark has worked as a TV host since the late 90s, when he began his career at the now-defunct London station Channel One, before scoring a job presenting the rugby coverage at Sky Sports.‌He was also one of the original presenters of Channel 4's breakfast show RI:SE, which launched in April 2002 and has since appeared as a host on ITV2’s I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here Now!, as well as the channel's Aviva Premiership Rugby Highlights and Sky 1’s The Match.In 2009, Judith told The Independent how grateful she was for her time on Wish You Were Here...? She said the show allowed her to see “so much of the world and discover how different it is". The jetsetter added that when she made her debut on the programme, a holiday consisted of "lying on the beach with lemons and oil" but she later became someone who "likes a bit of culture" too.Judith, who was also a grandmother of six, was one of the most popular presenters of our time. Paying tribute to the effervescent broadcaster, one fan wrote on X: "Very sad news. Judith was the reassuring voice of travel for a generation, bringing the world into British living rooms long before the internet made it easy.
