One of Andy Warhol’s Patek Philippes is getting its 15 minutes.

A Calatrava (Ref. 570) formerly owned by the late, great pop artist will be auctioned off at Christie’s Important Watches sale in New York this June, where it is expected to hammer down for between $200,000 and $400,000.

Warhol was a discerning watch collector, amassing hundreds of timepieces by heavyweights such as Rolex, Cartier, Piaget, and, of course, Patek, throughout his lifetime. After he died in 1987, the 313 watches found at his New York townhouse on East 66th Street were offered at Sotheby’s the following year in a landmark 10-day auction. It was the first time a single-owner watch collection of such size and quality had come to market and captured the attention of horophiles worldwide.
