MANILA, Philippines—A private school teacher on Friday asked the Supreme Court to halt the full implementation of the streamlined curriculum for the senior high school (SHS) program in the coming school year.

The streamlined curriculum reduced the original four tracks to just two.

Barry Tayam, a SHS teacher at San Beda College Alabang, filed a petition for certiorari that also sought a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the “Strengthened SHS Curriculum” under the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Memorandum Order No. 12, s. 2026.

The curriculum will be rolled out for the incoming Grade 11 students for the school year (SY) 2026 to 2027.
